I was pleasantly surprised by my stay at this hotel. The location is superb, right above a lively pub, and the rooms, while small, were presented well with underfloor heating. The service was friendly and accommodating, even leaving us a key at a nearby hotel. However, the dining options were limited, and the busy morning atmosphere may not suit all guests.

Rooms

The rooms were presented well with underfloor heating, but smaller than expected from the photos.
Service
9.0
The staff were very pleasant and accommodating, leaving us a key at a nearby hotel when we were out late.
Location
7.0
The hotel is located above a great pub, which might be a bit busy in the mornings, but you won't even need a taxi to get back, which is convenient.
Dining

While the Fox & Anchor offered great steaks, more dining options would have been appreciated.
Facilities

The private toilet area, massive tub, and walk-in shower were fantastic amenities to enjoy during the stay.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The rooms were spacious, quiet, and had underfloor heating in the bathroom. The service was accommodating, although there were minor inconveniences. The location was perfect for both business and leisure travelers. The dining experience was excellent, and the facilities were top-notch.

Rooms

The rooms were spacious and quiet, with underfloor heating in the bathroom. There was a separate bathroom on entrance, complete with an espresso coffee maker and wardrobes, leading to a cozy area with a large TV and a comfortable bed.
Service

The staff were friendly and exceptionally accommodating, although there were some issues with blocking the door during smoke breaks. Despite this, they handled concerns in a professional manner.
Location

The location was ideal, with easy access to two tube stations within a short walk. It was attached to a lovely pub and close to Smithfield Market, making it a great choice for those wanting to stay outside the city center.
Dining

7.2/10

The hotel seemed promising from the outside, but once inside, I was a bit disappointed with the cleanliness near the pub entrance. However, the room itself looked good despite not meeting our expectations completely. The service was top-notch with welcoming, friendly, and helpful staff. The location was convenient, though it might not have the same appeal as it did in the past. The dining experience was okay, with some potential for improvement. Overall, a mixed experience with both positives and negatives.

Rooms
7.0
The room, accessed through a side door near the front of the pub, was not what we expected but looked good. Could use better cleanliness.
Service
9.0
The staff were friendly, helpful, and charming, making me feel welcome. They were kind and always ready to assist.
Location
7.0
The hotel is located in the financial district, about a mile outside of London city center. The proximity to Barbican tube station is great, but it may lack the charm it once had. Still, it offers ease of access to various attractions.
Dining
6.0
The fact that the Fox & Anchor was open for breakfast was a plus, but the food quality was inconsistent. Some dishes were below expectations, while others were good. Price might be a consideration for those seeking better value.
Facilities
7.0
The hotel facilities were standard, offering basic amenities. Nothing particularly outstanding or disappointing.

Staying at this hotel is a great experience overall. The rooms are fantastic with a separate bathroom and a cozy sitting area before reaching the bed and TV. The location is convenient, with easy access to tube stations, though being over a working pub and construction nearby could be a downside.

Rooms
9.0
The room layout is exceptional, especially with the separate bathroom and sitting area before the main bedroom.
Service
8.0
The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, making my stay enjoyable. However, there was no compensation offered for concerns raised.
Location
9.0
The hotel's location is excellent, close to tube stations and historical sites, but being above a pub might not suit everyone.
Dining
7.0
The dining experience was satisfactory with delicious options, but improvements could be made based on room quality.
Facilities
8.0
The facilities are good, but the ongoing construction work nearby can be a bit disruptive.
